New Yorkers of The Caribbean Diaspora - A Showcase

On August 27th, the New york Public Library in collaboration with Ms. Loretta Green-Williams, hosted a showcase of the film, New Yorkers of The Caribbean Diaspora. This film by writer, produce and director, Dana Verde, featured prominent stalwarts of the Caribbean community that reside here in New York and who have contributed to the culture in various ways.

Featured in the film are Jamaican-born Nigel McPherson, who you may know him as Majah Hype, King of Caribbean Comedy; Jimmy Delgado, Timbalero/Latin Percussionist from Puerto Rico; Ingrid Jean-Baptiste, Founder of the Chelsea Film Festival; Glenroy Marsh, a Jamaican-born fashion designer; Dr. Roy Hastick, President & Founder of the Caribbean American Chamber Of Commerce and Industry, Inc (CACCI); Icilma Fergus, Director of Cardiovascular Disparities at Mt. S inai Medical Center; James Spooner, creator of Afropunk.
