For the First Time in History - Brown Ballet Shoes For Brown Girls

Cassa Pancho, the Founder and Artistic Director of Ballet Black has teamed up with renowned British ballet shoe manufacturer, Freed of London, to make brown ballet shoes for black, asian and mixed-race dancers.

Pancho, born to Trinidadian and British parents, holds a degree in classical ballet from Durham University and founded Ballet Black after graduating to provide a space for young, aspiring black and Asian dancers.

Cassa, along with Ballet Black’s Senior Artist, Cira Robinson, collaborated with the renowned British ballet shoe company to create two brand new skin-tone pointe shoe colors to enable dancers of black descent to buy shoes ready-made.
